I-201 was a "Fleet of Fog" patrol submarine, who was a part of Kongou's fleet and participated in the hunt for I-401.

I-201 is a "Fleet of Fog" reincarnation of WWII Japanese submarine I-201-class submarine, and the nameship of her class. Being a relatively low-importance vessel, I-201 doesn't have much in terms of offensive or defensive power. That said, she is still more than a threat to anything built by humans.
I-201 has four forward-facing torpedo tubes and two Photon Cannons as her armaments. She does have a Wave-Force armor, but it proved to be insufficient to let her survive a battle against Yamato's personal guard destroyer.

I-201 was a part of Kongou's fleet and participated in the hunt for I-401. After Kongou has suffered critical damage, she tried to assist her flagship in taking down sinking Matsushima II, but was unable to do so due to Yukikaze's intervention: the destroyer quickly defeated her in a very one-sided battle.
